Your first horse ride at Ridgway Stables

If you have not ridden a horse with us before, we like your first time with us to be on a one to one basis, to ensure that we match you with the right horse to make your ride with us an enjoyable experience.

Private horse riding lessons.

We suggest that beginners start with a one-hour private riding lesson. These private lessons allow you to progress at your own pace on a horse that is suited to your riding abilities. See the table below for prices, including discounts on offer.

Instructional hacks on Wimbledon Common

Instructional hacks are an ideal transition from private lesson to group hacks. With a maximum number of 4 people these are designed to improve your riding skills while enjoying the delights of hacking outdoors.

Treat yourself to some time off to ride a horse during the week. Take a look at the savings you can make by riding in the midweek too.

Suitable clothes for riding

At Ridgway Stables we ride out in all weathers, so please ensure you wear appropriate warm or waterproof clothing for such riding conditions.

Regrettably, inclement conditions will not be accepted as a reason for cancellation.

All riders must wear suitable foot wear – boots or shoes with a heel, please – not trainers.
